One year ago we created the 1st weeklong @wildernestcamp Hawaii with some of the best guides in human development. This Dec we will have our 3rd. It’s been an incredible journey to see all who have come, leave and step fully into their power. Including myself. I took a leap on a vision I had. I was training with incredible teachers and thought it would be dream to get them all in one place. And the risk, well, that it would fail. And so I took a leap with a great team and a vision that’s dedicated to helping everyone level up through practice. We don’t talk about ideas we live the ideas and so a new us is created. We grow stronger together, and to have a crew that wants to go to their edge is what brings me to life.
Is this for you?

Do you know how the Spartan Warrior trained?
The ones that were considered gods. They were training physical and martial development, but they were also dancing to be in rhythm, singing speaking and reading poetry to be artists in communication.
These were the fundamentals of the warriors of times past. We need not warriors to go to kill but leaders to cultivate life.
And still these essential components of Spartan training live on.
Wildernest Camp is for the leaders and change makers of today to train and be exposed to world-class guides in the skills of human development.
Through the pillars of physical development, elements of martial, dance and freediving to public speaking, singing, strategy. You will leave with clarity on how you want to move, communicate, think and feel through life.
5 days in Hawaii, you will be nourished by these elements, so you can step into your warrior and lead with all of you.

YOU COULD SUPRISE YOURSELF
Freediving is among the top practices to develop the skills to increase awareness + performance. While many practices in meditation focus on the breath. I prefer to take it away.

Last week I posted a video of me holding my breath for over 5 mins. Also note that 2 others at @wildernestcamp went for over 4:30 and most over 3.
This video however was from a year ago. After having a meltdown on the beach because I couldn’t hold my breath for a min, the fear for breath was so intense it broke me and a couple others. Why do I post this. Because we are focused on taking ourselves our edge and when we continuously show up, we change to what we’ve always been. And then there are more possibilities for our life. We start with the body, in it has millions of yrs of intelligence that when we tap into it. We realize there’s so much more resilience that we can carry on. Interested in diving in??
If I strip down everything. Even take away the breath, this is when I begin to fully live.
This clip was taken a few months ago in Hawaii at Wildernest camp. It captures a moment when I pushed myself to do something I didn't think I could ever do. To hold my breath for 5 minutes.
Why even do this in the first place? Why push my body, and test my mind to these limits?
I have become increasingly interested in freediving over the past few years. In order to freedive you need to learn to be comfortable without breath. Comfortable with what is inheritably uncomfortable. What is scary? To sit with fear and especially fear of death.
The problem comes when fear controls us. When we can’t discern what is a true threat, and what is just a mental limitation.
To move through fear, is to discover parts of ourselves that we didn’t know existed. To grow and expand. To realize our full potential.
However, we don’t need to meet fear alone — we need support. Guides are a critical component of this journey. @chambersbelow
So, yes, I was afraid to hold my breath and dive deep into the ocean — the very definition of the unknown.
What I learned, both in preparation and in the actual act of freediving in is that to be at my edges, with the support of guides, allows me to test my false assumptions and beliefs. What assumptions do I have that aren’t actually true and what limits do I place on the realms of possibility.
Assumptions (like the fear of passing out and dying under water) were particularly challenged. Imagine my surprise when our guide said he’s passed out 20+ times underwater. We would find out that day that the body has receptors on the eyes and nose that recognizes that you’re actually underwater and won’t breath should you indeed pass out — a built in survival mechanism that protects you from drowning. The important thing however is that you have a partner with you that observes that you’ve gone unconscious and can bring you up to the surface. Once you reach the surface your body recognizes that you’re no longer underwater and will begin to breathe without the need of resuscitation.
I experienced that I’m inhabiting a body that has evolved over millions yr
“It seems impossible until it’s done”. Having never tried a standing back flip and front flip in till today, a big part of me in the past had concluded it wasn’t possible, until I did it off a board, and the impossible became doing it standing. And now, I wonder what else I think I can’t do but with the support of guides can push my edges.

What a feeling to know that everything and everyone is here to help. To know I don’t need to look far. Even for things like doing flips which is scary for me. To know that we all are starting from somewhere.
Where will this love for acrobatics go. I don’t know, but I do know that I love exploring how it is to be in this body and pushing even my own ideas of what is possible. Love to feel all the the fears and instincts that arise when trying new things, and love to dive through.
